Most foster parents have personally seen a child walk through their door with the awful plastic garbage bag as if it was a suitcase. This is so unacceptable but understandable at the same time because a lot of moves are on an emergency basis for DCFS or the agency that they work for. TPSM recognizes that we shouldn't give children the impression that they resemble trash by allowing their belongings to be placed in garbage bags. TPSM will help children who come into care with a personal bag of their very own. We provide “We Care” bags to foster children through foster care agencies around the Illinois area two times a year. These bags will give each child a proper piece of luggage to carry their belongings and toiletries and things they will need as they move away from everything normal to them.
This program is also dedicated to provide tangible resources such as: Mattresses, Bedding, linen - School supplies - Clothing, Hygiene Kits - Stuffed Animal.
